Mariah Carey Wins Three Grammy Awards

Mariah Carey, one of the best-selling artists of all time, was nominated for a leading eight awards for "The Emancipation of Mimi." The three awards that she did win were all handed out in the pre-telecast ceremony.

Irish band U2 were the big winners with 5 awards.
